We are seeking a buyer / procurement specialist for our client, a well established, midsized Brooklyn based IT Firm. You will be tasked with purchasing desktops, laptops, servers, hard drives, memory boards, cables and 150 other computer related products. You will be part of a team making these purchases. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, extremely organized, persistent, and good with numbers. There is much room for growth for an ambitious, industrious individual and our client fosters a great work environment.
You will be charged with assembling orders, researching prices, placing orders with various vendors, reporting back to superiors on the status of orders, and following up with existing orders. You should be able to evaluate the breadth of different products and vendor options, understanding the function of each product and how they interact with each other. Average purchases are between $500-$10,000 and there is a large volume of purchases.
The successful candidate should have at least 2 years of solid buying / purchasing experience, preferably with this kind of equipment. Experience with Excel is a must. This is a full-time position with excellent compensation and benefits (health ins., vacation, 401K, etc.)
